Bon Voyage to our Ladies!!

Backworth Mares depart for the Cape / Ian Todd (p)

Spring is always an exciting, yet anxious, time for any Stud Farm as the results of years of intricately calculated planning and breeding come to fruition with the arrival of the past season’s foals and the selection of the next season’s Stallions.

This year is a particularly anxious, yet exciting, time for the Backworth team as we bid farewell to a few members of our broodmare band as they embark on their journey to the fairest Cape… and to some impressive Stallion talent too!

Pathfork (USA) - Plush (SAF)

Spring is almost upon us and with the changing of the seasons comes the much anticipated arrival of our first foals.

Kicking off the foaling season was our broodmare Plush (Fort Wood - Velvet Green), a full sister to Wonder Lawn, with her sprightly filly by Pathfork (Distorted Humor - Vision Of Clarity).

Here they are enjoying the freedom of a first frollick in the paddock.
