FLORISTRY
Muhtafal (USA) - Erythrina (SAF) by Fort Wood (USA)

Floristry (Muhtafal - Erythrina) broke her maiden for us at Fairview Friday winning very nicely over 1200m for trainers Duncan McKenzie and Des McLachlan with Barend Vlooh up.

After a six month break, Floristry was sent to PE where she has scored a third, a second and now a first from her last five starts!

This chestnut filly is from the family of Royal Heroine (GB), Champion Turf Filly in the USA in 1984, and Carmine Lake (IRE), Top Rated 3-Year-Old Sprinter in France in 1997.

Having a satellite yard on the Highveld has its benefits for trainer Gavin van Zyl and sending out Money Tree (SAF) (Var (USA) - Erythrina (SAF)) for a spin under jockey Wesley Marwing on the Vaal sand track Tuesday afternoon turned out to be a wise call for Team G Racing.

Coming off a disappointing run on the grass, Money Tree showed how a change of track surface can turn the form around as she produced an explosive finish to win by 2.25 lengths from early pace setter Pink Prospect (SAF) (Silvano (GER)) and Jolly Along (SAF) (Silvano (GER)).

HERE'S WISHING A FULL BOUQUET TO THE FLORISTRY SYNDICATE

FLORISTRY (SAF)
Muhtafal (USA) - Erythrina (SAF)

Floristry Syndicate rssWe were delighted to welcome to Backworth an enthusiastic supporters club for the filly FLORISTRY (Muhtafal / Erythrina) which was sold as a yearling in 2011, and is now in training with Duncan Howells. Old hands to racing in KZN - Brett and Bitty Walker with Howard and Merryl Schwegmann rallied their friends together to take legs and tails in Floristry, which all together looks to be a fun filled syndicate, who await her first run at the Vodacom Durban July before going on to race in Dubai!

Recently back from the UK, Tim and Debbie Herdon have picked up the reins again, having been avid racers previously in Zimbabwe. A newcomers welcome to Russell and Tracey Hampson, Richard and Catherine Pitt, and Andy and Jo Heycock (who revelled in playing with the foals in the paddocks!). Thanks again to regular Backworth supporters Gavin Cunningham, Chris Tyson, and Nicola and Mark Coppez.

Here’s wishing a full bouquet to all!

“WE ARE WORTH BACKING.”
