Backworth-bred Karatage scored an excellent maiden win at Greyville Sunday for trainer Michael Miller and owners Messrs G C Cornwall, G Murray, Sterling M Miller, A C Nel and A Smith with jockey Alec Forbes up.

Backworth-bred Aquinata won by an impressive 2.5 lengths at Fairview Friday for trainer Dorrie Sham and owners Adriaan and Rika van Vuuren with jockey Karl Zechner up. This is Aquinata’s third win on the trot, improving an already impressive career record to 3 wins and 2 seconds from just 5 starts.
