Tenacious Win for Be Fabulous

Be Fabulous wins an FM 84 Handicap at Kenilworth

The contribution made to Cape racing and breeding by owner/breeder Peter De Beyer, can be described in many ways, not least... ‘Fabulous’.

Owner of many superbly talented fillies over the past few years including multiple Equus Champion at two and three, Princess Victoria, and Equus Champion 3-Year-Old, Lady Windermere, Peter certainly has an eye for thoroughbred potential.

Peter believes strongly that a trainer needs to have the ability to select reasonably priced yearlings, and that the trainer needs to train and place that horse as its individual needs dictate.

A R130,000 purchase at the 2012 Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale, the Backworth-bred Be Fabulous (Kahal - Ramp Model) is a horse who suitably fits that mantra having performed consistently over four seasons, recording 4 wins and 13 places from 26 starts with careers earnings of R253,100.

Tuesday saw Be Fabulous at the top of her game for trainer Glen Kotzen, as the 5 year old mare won tenaciously under jockey Greg Cheyne over the Kenilworth 1800m.

Congratulations to the winning connections.
