Flamin' Friday for Backworth-Breds!

Kadeze wins the Brenda Haridath FM70 Handicap (F&M) / Gold Circle (p)

Spring has embraced KwaZulu-Natal with hints of the Summer heat to come. Whilst early days yet, Friday’s temperatures were flamin’... off the racecourse... and on!

National Emblem / Forbidden Woods

Kicking off a flamin' Friday for Backworth-breds was Sanctuary over 1200m on the Fairview polytrack; storming home in the second to win by an increasing 2.5 lengths from Classic Delight (Lecture) and Al-Amadi (Woodborough) for trainer Alan Greeff, Backworth and racing partner Lee Scribante. The National Emblem filly, dubbed Cameron Diaz, hasn't been out the money on any of her four starts.

Kahal / Linda Grandeza (AUS)

As dusk settled a steamy Durban, fellow speedster Kadeze came to the fore. She fired on all cylinders to get up over 1200m in a Greyville Polytrack nailbiter, prevailing over Quintella (Miesque's Approval) and Strategic Move (Strategic News), and securing a fine win for trainer Tony Rivalland and owner Mrs Mary Liley.

Congratulations to all the winning connections!
