LUCKY BREAK

Muhtafal - Moving On Up by Jallad

In an absolute thriller Friday night at Greyville, the ultra-consistant Tony Rivalland-trained Lucky Break was denied victory in the eighth by a dogged Dancingwithjackson and ultimately the fall of a judge’s hammer.

Positioned plum entering the straight, pilot Keagan de Melo rallied Lucky Break, hitting the front at the 400m marker and pulling away from the chasing pack. A charging Dancingwithjackson flew up the outside and the two battled neck in neck from 200m to the wire with the result being decided in the boardroom.

Mary Liley’s gutsy Muhtafal gelding out of our Jallad mare, Moving On Up, is in superb form and hasn’t been out the money in his last five appearances; racking up a tally of three thirds, a second and a first since August last year.
