Island Fiesta in KZN Winter Challenge 1200 Nailbiter

Crescendo, Flyfirstclass and Island Fiesta - KZN Winter Challenge 1200Crescendo, Flyfirstclass and Island Fiesta - KZN Winter Challenge 1200 / Gold Circle (p)

Backworth-bred Island Fiesta did little wrong Saturday under jockey MJ Odendaal in the KZN Winter Challenge 1200 at Clairwood, being denied only in a final lunge to the line by the impressive Maine Chance-bred Crescendo, a son of Act One out of the Danehill mare Carambola, and the strapping Summerhill-bred Kahal gelding, Flyfirstclass.

The ultra-consistant Wendy Whitehead-trained son of Miesque’s Approval out of the Australian mare, Bermuda Junction, is a graduate from the Backworth draft of the 2010 KZN Yearling Sale and takes his career record to 4 wins and 11 places from 20 starts.
