SUNCOAST CASINO KZN YEARLING SALE
30 June - 1 July 2011
The KZN Yearling Sale was held at the Suncoast Casino in Durban for the first time, and the new venue attracted a number of compliments from buyers and vendors alike. Whilst the sale had mixed results, few voiced anything but praise for the new venue.
The aggregate of R7.802 million was down slightly on last year’s aggregate of R7.793 million, but it is worth noting that the average price of R45,626 was an increase on last year’s average of R43,568. And while the number of horses not sold (61) was up marginally on last year’s total (59), the sales topper (R310,000) was up considerably on last year’s top priced yearling (R210,000).
